We see these tiny bugs crawling in the cage. We can’t tell what they are no do we know what to treat it with!
We just adopted her about 12 days ago.
        Please advice
I have a picture of the bugs but don’t know if I can or how to attach here

If they jump, they’re probably fleas. If they don’t and are almost too small to see even right up close, they might be some form of mite. Or they could be something else – your vet might know.

Ask your vet for some Revolution/Stronghold monthly spot on treatment and clean the cage and wash all her stuff thoroughly with a bunny-safe disinfectant (or even just vinegar).

DO NOT put Frontline or any other parasite treatment with the same active ingredient on your bunny – it will kill her.

Here’s a tutorial on how to insert pictures: pictorial

Q8 is very right about Frontline. The active ingredient in Frontline is Fipronil. It is also found in products named Effipro and Sentry and many others. It’s EXTREMELY toxic to rabbits so never use that.

Revolution (selamectin) is bunny safe and good for most types of bunny parasites. For fleas you can use Advantage (imidaclopride). Make sure you get the right dosage. The dosage for kittens is suitable for rabbits.

When trying to upload the image it said it only allows a smaller size. I only uploaded 1 picture.

They are not fleas. Look like tiny ticks but not dear ticks that we are familiar with. Maybe tiny dog ticks but not entirely sure. They are so easy to burst as the belly is full of blood.

I don’t have in my local stores the revolution remedy for my rabbit. Any other alternatives?

I looked up some organic herbal insect tropical spray from Jet online, anyone tried it?

Revolution is usually sold by vets.

Go to your vet, I think it’s best to see what type of bug it is before treating it so you have the right treatment.
