Hello everyone, I’m happy to be new to these forums, and I have a 7 month old male dwarf lion-head, hes my world His name is Joey, and He is the most friendly rabbit I’ve ever had/witnessed, no biting, at all, litter trained, waiting to be fixed but doesn’t spray nor be destructive (make that he isnt TOO destructive ), I’m wondering when I get him fixed will it change his behavoir, most say to get him fixed to stop such behavior but he really has not show anything bad besides a little bit of nibbling on corners of walls, hes free roam btw

Hello and welcome to Binky Bunny! The surgery shouldn’t change his behavior much – it seems like he is already well behaved. Some rabbits go into a post neuter craze due to fluctuating hormone levels, so don’t be surprised if Joey acts out a little at first. If he does, it should be over with in a few weeks.

Hi and very welcome to the Bb forums! Joey sounds like a lovely boy! As Tobyluv says, a neuter doesn’t change personality but it can help rid the bun of sexually driven behavior, like pee- and poop-marking, territorial aggression, inappropriate courtship behaviors. And also as Tobyluv says, you sometimes see a “post-neuter craze” just after a neuter with loss of litter box habits and cage aggression etc. It’s normal and generally subsides in 2-4 weeks. In very rare cases it can last up to 8 weeks, but that is very rare.
