Hello! Any ideas on what my husband can do when my bunny circles him and bites his ankles? This is a new behavior for the past 2 months during free range time in the backyard. My husband was fine with him for the past 2 years – he was able to be in the backyard no problem- and all of a sudden he can’t go out there without being bitten. He’s tried the high pitched squeal, saying “no,” clapping, and turning his back on him but nothing seems to help.

He has been trying to associate lots of positive behaviors (giving the bunny banana and pets when possible) but he’s getting frustrated that he can’t walk in the yard anymore without fear of biting. Ideas?

Bunny is neutered and does have a companion bunny (no issues with her.) He is also healthy. We are just concerned because this is a sudden behavior – never with me. Only with him and the petsitter when she came for a few days twice this summer.

Any other ideas on how to stop the behavior? Obviously husband is not too pleased.

Are they outside rabbits? If so, it sounds like something is coming in your yard while you guys are not around and pestering him. So now he sees anyone/anything that enters the yard to be a threat
