My little clover has a red spot on his back and all the fur fell out around it! He’s mostly an indoor rabbit and in my classroom. He doesn’t seem to be acting too different other than sensitive to that spot ?. Could it be ringworm?? I’m freaking out!! has anyone seen anything like this on their bunny?

What did the fur that came out look like at the ends?

Is he a single rabbit or in with another? Or interact with other animals? To me, it looks like it could have been pulled off in a scuffle.

It’s hard to tell from the photo; is the skin around it flaky like dandruff at all?

If something like ring worm or mites, it’s easily treatable.

I think it was a bite from a scuffle now. He was playing with my sisters rabbit and they got a little rough but I didn’t realize a bite would make hair fall out ? Werebunnies

Hair can fall out because it’s an automatic protective measure, a bunny drops it’s hair when it gets bit because that way the attacker only gets a mouthful of hair. It’s very common that you see hair tufts flying when two buns fight and when you take a bun to the vet, they often “stress-shed” all over (dogs do that too when they get stressed out).

The wound looks nice and clean. You can leave it like it is or you can rinse it with saline (human eye-wash) and you can put plain neosporin cream on it (not the type that has a pain-killer added).
