        Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago my rabbit had a vet check up before her spay, and the vet found grey circles inside her pupil. It’s exactly in the middle of both eyes. It’s not visible without a flashlight. She didn’t know what it was. She said it wasn’t an ulcer or cataracts and that she’s never seen anything like it.It’s inside the eye, not on top of the corneal. The vet thought that she might just have been born that way and to check it occasionally so that it doesn’t increase. I checked again today and it seems a tiny bit bigger in one eye but I’m not 100% sure. She also gets almost every day a small translucent film over a bit of her eye that I have to remove. I think it might just be eye crust that hasn’t crusted yet, but I don’t know if it’s related to her grey spot. Does anyone have an idea what the spot is? I’ve tried to get a picture but I can’t. It doesn’t show up even with the flash. The spot is about the size of this: O (as shown on the screen).

Is the vet rabbit-savvy? If it’s a tiny bit bigger I wouldn’t worry too much but if it’s a noticeable difference I would take her to the vet just to be safe.

Yes, the vet is rabbit savvy. She sees rabbits many times per week (they are a big clinic and there are only 2 rabbit vets in that area). I’m not even 100% sure if it’s bigger because I might have just forgotten the size. It doesn’t show up in pictures so I have nothing to compare to. I think it will probably be pointless to take her back to the vet since they don’t know what it is. I was told that the only way to know would be to take her to a rabbit ophtamologist, but good luck finding one. I’m not really worried for now because she can see and it’s not any of the usual problems, but I was wondering if anyone else had this. I just hope it’s something she was born with and that it doesn’t get bigger.

Is it a reflection off the retina? What color are her eyes?

Her eyes are brown. The spot kinda looks like this (not my picture). Not the reflection, but the grey spot. Hers is smaller though.
