I have lurked here for information over the last 9 weeks since bring home two dwarf bunnies. The site has been a wealth of information, so thanks for that! In fact, it was because of information I read here when my white dwarf Ollie started to drool, I realized I had to take him to the vet immediately. I ended up having to put Ollie to sleep.

I still had his brother Hector, and not wanting him to be alone, I brought home Max, a Havana Rex. Both Max and Hector are 16 weeks old, and in the throes of puberty. All had been great up until the last few weeks when I noticed spraying, chasing, humping, and finally today – fighting. I’ve called my vets, but they will not neuter them until they are 6 months old. ?

I’ve now separated the boys, and will have to wait out the next 8 weeks. I’m hoping the boys will go back to being cuddle buddies again once their surgeries are done! ❤️

Thanks again for being such an informative community!

          Welcome!

Im very sorry to hear about Ollie.

It’s worth ringing around regarding neutering. Many vets will desex male rabbits younger.

            HI Jerseygirl!

I called a second vet, and they said the same. 6 months. It’s frustrating! I could totally understand them being reluctant with Hector, he’s only 1 3/4 lbs, but Max is 4.5 lbs. I may call around to vets outside of my city.
