My new 4 month old bunny has decided the couch is a pee pad poop zone and I cant figure out what to do. I have cleaned and cleaned with cleaners and vinegar and he still dose it. I block it off and for the most part it keeps off of it but when im up on the couch or leave to grab something from one room he jumps up and dose his thing. Is there a holy grail to correcting this? Hes even started leaving pellets outside his cage. I love him so much but my husband is sad for our couch. Will he stop once neutered? He hasnt matured enough yet to get him fixed. I follow behind him most times cleaning up behind him but yikes!

This is a very common problem, especially in “teenage” unaltered buns. Most bunnies stop, or at least decrease, this after they are neutered and their hormones die down.

Have you tried putting a litter box on the couch for now? Perhaps with some newspaper or plastic bag under it? If this doesn’t work, your best bet is to restrict access to the couch until after he is neutered.

Yeah we were afraid to putva litter up there just incase in encouraged him to go there. I am blocking it off when were not home but omg he pees everywhere once he gets access for awhile.

I definitely think you should block the couch from him until he’s been altered. Just try to be very patient until then, whenever my bunny does something he’s not supposed to do I thump with my foot, he usually gets the idea and moves away.
Also, keep close to your bunny and maybe reward him from peeing where he should, I’ve read rabbits work a lot better with rewards.

Put a plastic shower curtain on the couch – a slippery crinkly one, if you can manage it. Most buns hate the sensation and will stop jumping up on it.
