This is my first post and I’m very new to the site as a member. I hope I’m doing all of this correctly.

When I got my sweet Tumnus about 2 months ago, I was told:

a.) That he was a girl. (His name was Sophie until I discovered his jelly beans.)

        and

b.) That he was a Mini-Rex. (The woman didn’t seem confident in this.)

Upon further inspection, I’ve noticed he doesn’t look as much like a mini-rex as I thought. To me he looks a bit like an English Spot. He has nearly all 6 signature markings of the English Spot. The only thing is, he doesn’t have a hare-like build. He is also around 3 lbs and I believe him to be 12-16 weeks old. What do you guys think? English Spot? Mini-Rex? Something else? All replies are greatly appreciated!

He’s probably a mix. We dont worry much about breeds much on bb but whatever Tumnus is, he’s very cute and soft-looking.

The broken gene has been introduced into many breeds. You name it, there are bunnies in that breed with a broken pattern. So pattern alone doesn’t tell us much, unfortunately. As Diamond said, he’s likely a mix. His head shape and ears scream Havana to me for some reason though. So maybe he’s mixed with that?

He’s neither mini rex or english spot. As LBJ10 mentioned, the broken pattern is very common in a variety of breeds. Otherwise, I’ve got no idea of his mix of breeds, his ears are quite small and rounded. Whatever the case, he’s very cute
