Our male rabbit is not neutered and is litter trained and no behavior problems
We recently brought in a female bunny who will be spayed as soon as she is old enough. They get along great and sleep separate (to prevent babies) bUT we have noticed Mr bun STINKS. Ever since daisy got here he stinks. Not his litter box but HIM. What’s going on?

Are you noticing he’s lifting his tail up high a lot?

I suspect it’s his scent glands you can smell. One of my rabbits gives off a burnt coffee smell when his scent glands are “engaged”.

You have to get your male rabbit neutered before you can put the rabbits together, even if the female will be spayed. He will constantly want to be humping her and that will lead to fighting and can lead to severe injuries. The first step in bonding rabbits is for both of them to be spayed and neutered and for a few weeks to follow after their surgeries before bonding can be attempted. The female has evidently set off your males hormones big time, which is why he now smells. Do not put them together until both have had their surgeries and recuperated. If the male is old enough now, (his testicles have descended) he can be neutered.

Here are 2 good articles on bonding.
