Hello! I need some advice :/
My rabbit the bunnz is a 2 year old
Mini Rex, I just bonded him with another bunny and everything went very very well. The first two days constantly played and no fighting between. They have been sleeping with each other and cuddling. Well day 4 is here and now he’s acting extremely depressed. The past night till about 10am he never moved his position. We put him outside to run around and he didn’t. Could he possibly be upset we have another bunny?? I would hate to think he is sick.

Is he eating and pooping? If not, he is going into GI stasis and he will need to see a vet. You may also see him hunched over if he is having gas pains. If you suspect that, you can give him infant simethicone drops.

Are you sure that there has been no fighting between your bunnies? Could the new bunny have bitten him or been intimidating him? Have you checked him all over for bite wounds? Maybe you should keep them separate until you are sure of what is going on. The rabbits are both neutered or neutered and spayed, aren’t they?

In any case, if he isn’t acting right and especially if he isn’t eating and pooping normally, he should see a vet.

I am worried too. Bonding is stressful, (although acceptably so in most cases) and stress can change the pH in the rabbit’s cecum and cause gut problems like gas or stasis. As Tobyluv says, if he’s not eating and pooping, he needs a vet, because this has been going on for a while (8-12 hours without food is a veterinary emergency and the sooner the bun gets treatmeant, the better).
