Feeding Golbez about 2 lbs of fresh greens every night and about 2/8ths cup+ of pellets everyday based on guidelines I found online
I’m new to this so doing my best to keep him happy
I also give him a nice strawberry, some celery and carrot when I get home from work as a treat
He’ll approach me to eat the treat from my hand and when I come into the room he’s usually in to get him his food he’ll nudge my legs a little bit
I leave some pellets out at night as well in case he isn’t in the mood for leaves (sometimes he doesn’t like the green lettuce, I’ve noticed)
I also found conflicting articles on kale about how oxalic it is and so forth but Golbez loves the stuff so I usually mix it in with green lettuce or radish tops.
He always has hay and free reign of my bedroom where his cage/litter box is. I also keep my door open when I am home so he has free reign of the house a lot of the time too.
he likes to nibble my fingers sometimes, I have some calluses so I can’t tell if it’s a really mean bite or an affectionate one lol though I don’t mind either way
One thing I am concerned about is that He doesn’t show a whole lot of body language indicating happiness or anger or fear of much of anything.
He mostly just slowly hops around with the occasional short sprint.  From what I’ve seen of “flops” he does like to flop but not all the way onto his side. He’ll make a flop sound when lying down sometimes with his legs to the side but torso and head upward. Might just be because of where he is laying (likes to chill behind my computer haha) So I can’t tell if that’s a flop or just an accelerated attempt at lying down?
He also has yet to binky, lick me, half binky, “bunny 500”, growl, purr, thump, kick dirt in my face, etc.
Moral is: very little body language if any at all to indicate happiness or distrust.
I am concerned and am curious if he is happy or not :/.
Anyways, it’s only been a week so maybe he’ll cheer up in time .
Further info: looks neutered, is fully grown, and very rarely poops or pees outside of cage. Very good about that haha.   I spend a lot of time on my stomach offering him cardboard to play with, treats, and just lying still while he climbs on me. Also talk to him as much as possible.  I don’t force anything though, just let him come to me .

Welcome! Golbez is a handsome bun bun!

Are you sure he’s getting 2 pounds of greens? That’s a lot. Do you mean 2 cups?

Watch out for those cables. Bunnies can chew through them in an instant!

A week is not much time. We’ve had Timber a little over a month and he’s now just started to approach us more and binky. He still won’t request petting and usually won’t tolerate it long unless distracted by food. It sounds like you’re doing the right things to make friends with him! I think if he didn’t like being around you he wouldn’t nudge you or climb on you. He’d get away from you or make signs of anger/fear.
