        Hello all,

So I know its normal for bunnies to groom themselves often but my bunny is obsessed. And what I mean by this is he feels uncomfortable when I pet him because he feels the need to groom himself immediately after I take my hands off of him. And he grooms himself for at least 5 minutes each time this happens. He could have just finished grooming himself and I’ll pet him and he will immediately begin the process over again. I want him to relax when I pet him but he’s always on edge waiting to groom again. Does anyone have any ideas on why this might be or how I can get him to relax a little?

How long have you had your bun for?
If you haven’t had him for a long time, and his self-grooming isn’t excessive so as he’s pulling out fur and/or getting sores or eczemas from always being wet, I’d say this is perfectly normal and very bunnylike.

When my Yohio was new with me he embarked on a 20-minute grooming session every time after I’d pet him. Here’s an old pic in my photo-album of just that: Yohio 2013
