        Hi all,

So I know most rabbits absolutely hate being picked up, but there are some times in which the only thing I can do is pick him up. When I need to pick him up out of his cage or pick him up to set him on the floor. He just struggles and fights me and I have tons of scratches all over my hands because of it. Is there any way I can get him used to being picked up or at least tolerate it for a short while?

I’m very new to having a bunny, but what has worked for me is putting one hand in front of her, an picking her up gently, once I have her off the ground I put the hand that was in front of her under her legs so she has something stable under her feet an place her on my chest under my chin. I think she feels safe there. An she has something on her feet. She does sometimes get frightened, like when going up an down the stairs, so I have one or two scratches on my chest, but nothing major. I also don’t pick her up out of her pin. That’s her space, I wait for her to come out on her own, which never takes long.
