I did post something earlier about my two bonded rabbits, Courtney and Cara. They are both spayed. Cara is extremely shy and anxious. She even seems to be a little fearful of me. For example, she backs into corners or hides in their cage if I even make slight movements. What are some things you’ve done to bond with your rabbit? Has anyone else had this issue and had success working through it? My bunnies are actually therapy bunnies due to several of my mental illnesses. Cara lets me hold her and doesn’t attack, she actually even seems to enjoy it. Which can be very therapeutic, but I know she has the potential to make an even greater therapy bunny because deep down she’s a sweet heart, but is just really shy. I’d love to help her come out of her shell. I just need some bonding tips! thanks for your help in advance!

I agree, sit on the floor by the cage or when they’re out running around. Talk to them softly, or just read a book out loud. Don’t try to actively interact at all times, just let them learn that they can come near to you without you reaching out to them. You can also try luring them over to you with treats and rewarding them for coming close to you.
