Bramble’s been having a combination of appetite/poop problems. I think this will need a vet visit tomorrow but wondered whether anyone has any ideas?

She has gradually been going off her pellets. She gets a hamster bowl full every evening. This is usually gone by the morning but the past week she’s eating about half. She is still eating her veggies every morning. She is also eating hay but not as much. She will still scoffle treats.

Her poops have been half their normal size. This is not too unusual for her, she stresses very easily and stress makes her poops little. However, her tiny poops have been happening for a few days and it’s only ever lasted a couple of hours before.

This morning she has started pooping on the sofa, which is really unusual for her. She hasn’t done this since she was spayed. The sofa poops looked really small, rounded and smelt really strong like cecal poops.

In herself she seems good. Still binkying and zooming. Maybe flopped/sleeping a bit more but it’s quite hot and humid.

Any ideas on what could be going on??

        Thank you!! Xx

Could be teeth issues? Or she may simply be fed up of that brand of pellets? Ours have two types, Harringtons and Supreme Science Select

Podge finds a handful of porridge oats and fresh forage, such as dandelion stalks, goose grass, daisy leaves and clove help keep his tum happy, if you can gather any of these?

It might be the heat and humidity that is affecting her appetite. Do you have any ways to make her environment cooler?

Thanks, Gina. She loves oats so I might try a few. She had some forage last night and still gobbles this up

She has a mix of Excel and selective science but still leaves half the bowl, so I don’t think it’s a fussy thing. Although she is a fussy thing lol.

Her front teeth seem ok but I will have to have a vet check the back.

Thanks, Tobyluv. I try to give her frozen water bottles but we don’t have ac or fans or anything. I should clarify, it’s hot and humid for England which means about 22’c. That’s hot enough for me and Bramble but not America hot maybe it’s still this affecting her appetite though

              Xx
