Lola is a holland lol, only about 4 months now. I’ll let her hop around the living room while I’m home sometimes, and have been gradually increasing her play time. I even set her cage on the floor with the door open over night last night and she was super happy about that.

While I know bonding takes time, it seems Lola never ever wants to come by me. I’ll lay on the floor and she will just go behind the couches and under things. There was a few times I’d be sitting on the floor with my boyfriend and she would hop over by him to see what’s up- but she never hops by me and I’m the one who she knows!

I read a lot of forums where their buns will hop up to them on their lap and be silly. Lola is always trying to hide.

I think she runs from me because when she knows I go get her it’s time to go back in the cage. I’ve been trying to give her small treats when she comes by me just so she knows I’m not only trying to catch her, but she’ll never come too close so I have to put the treat on the ground for her to get.

I’m just looking for tips on how to get my bunny comfortable with me

She’s still young. Just keep handling her and give her lots of treats and love! It may take a while, but I promise she’ll eventually warm up to you. The same thing happened with our bunny when he was that age, but now he lets us cuddle him. He even gives us kisses! Good Luck!

I was worried about giving her treats. When I got her in May, she was born in March and the breeder said nothing besides pellets and hay until after October. Which would be about 6-7 months. I’ve slowly given her natural treats and watched to make sure her poops were ok. Slowly but surely- the treats are already working! I have tiny squares of papaya and now she’ll run up to me when she just hears the bag crinkle. I’m excited now! Thank you
