So I’m trying to train Ajax, but I’m finding it difficult to find a treat he just goes crazy for, enough that he’d want to eat it every time its offered. As it is, he’ll only eat a given treat once every once and a while.

So basically what I was wondering is, what treats do your bunnies just always love and would gladly eat any time its offered?

          What have you tried?

Bandit loved crasins and dried apple. Craisins are full of (added) sugar so should be used very sparingly, but he loved those instantly. Dried apple was a painstaking thing to even get him to try, but once he tried it a couple of times he learned that he loved it. He wasn’t big on much else like fresh banana, though many bunnies go bananas for banana.

I’ve tried his pellets (which I’ve had the best success with, but it’s still off-and-on), plum, banana, kale, bok choy, and hay. He also has timothy apple biscuits but he wouldn’t even try those.

I’ll have to give dried apple and craisins a shot, thank you!

Two of my buns (Pippi and Jenny) accept anything as treat food, pellets, dandelion leaves, strawberry leaves, parsley etc. The other two (Podge and Gina) are less food orientated and whether they got mad for a treat depends more on their mood than on what the treat is. It maybe that Ajax just isn’t strongly motivated by food, or it maybe you just haven’t found the right thing for him, and nor have I for Podge and Gina!

Do you have any suggestions on what I could reward him with instead? He’s not a particularly cuddly/pet-loving bunny, although he does occasionally like a good pet, and I don’t know what else I could ‘praise’ him with

My Chewie is a greedy guts, so I’m afraid I’m no help, but perhaps an edible flower or something really fragrant like a fresh basil leaf?

Timber loves Oxbow “Simple Rewards Veggie Treats For Small Animals”. They come in pieces bigger than needed (heart shaped! ), so we break off a little chunk when we are doing clicker training. I call them bunny crack because he loves them so much.

My buns are total cookie monsters for any of the Oxbow biscuit type treats. They also love Sunseed Dried Papaya.
