        Hello all,

This isn’t really a question but I just thought I’d give a general update on Autumn. It’s been months since her spay and all traces of her hormones have subsided (thank god!) which has allowed her to lead a stress free life. She is in great health, although slightly thin despite giving her a full handful of pellets a day but not underweight. She is more relaxed and not so jittery, I help encourage exercise by giving her a treat ball, grass trays, boxes, playing chase (she trusts me completely) etc as she can become sedentary despite being a free range HR. she loves my company and always runs over madly binkying and shaking her head when I get home! There is nothing better than coming home to a happy rabbit  Still an avid chewer, I give her whole hazel and apple branches with leaves which she devours- woody stems and all and small logs to de-bark (excellent way to speed up drying firewood). She loves attention and will often flop out, fall asleep and start snoring  but also needs to be alone at times. She will be 1 year old sometime next month. I feel Autumn has formed a deep understanding of me that is almost uncanny as I truly  believe she can understand things even I can’t.

It’s nice to hear that Autumn is doing so well and that you two have a special bond.

It’s so great that Autumn has mellowed post spay! I remember your posts really well as I really felt for you trying so hard to nurture a bond when Autumn did not make it easy! Really good to hear about the two of you – Thanks for the update.

Brambino- No problem, yes it was very difficult and by no means quick but we got there in the end thanks for the thoughts

That’s fantastic to hear. It’s so very good to know that her hormones have at last settled and both you and her can now relax and simply enjoy spending time together

I’m so glad to hear it Autumn’s dad, I remember too, she really gave you a tough time! Yay for this great outcome!!

My buns love chewing the bark off of twigs and branches too, it’s great for their teeth + has good nutrients. I feed mine twigs daily during winter when I can’t get as wide a variety of greens. My apple trees suffer, but the buns come first =)

Hi Azerane, thanks most certainly is, no more stress for either of us!

Hello bam, yep thankfully that is old news now cool, admittedly I don’t give as much veg as should (still twice to five times a week) as I live a little remote, but I often feed wild stuff like that. Yep, the trees do take a beating but It helps keep them from overgrowing

Yes, it’s been a rocky old road but the going is smother now, much to the delight of my sanity  I hope so too, Rabbits are a huge amount work and sometimes things go terribly wrong. They’ll push you, make you go stir crasy even but they are worth the hardest struggle because they are innocent, quirky, sweet, funny, relatable, loyal and they need us humans. For anyone reading this- hang in there, the most stubborn and aggressive of rabbits will mellow with time and love.
