So, I have the bunnies in my room. And the room has a door and then the outside has a door. However, I keep getting these tiny little gnats in the room. And they seem to be attracted to the bunny litter box. Any advice? I don’t want to put anything on their litter, but I also don’t want bugs in their litter box.

Change the litter box much more often. Theyre attracted to the smell. Add sticky fly traps to the room (there are kinds that hang, so your rabbits cant get to them). I think my mom would make a mixture of a small spoon full of honey + a few drops of vinegar in a small plastic cup, then put cling wrap over it with a fork holes poked into it. They fly into the cup, and get stuck to the mixture or they fly in and cant get out. I will try to remember to ask her if the mixture had anything else

I don’t know if this is related, but I recently found gnats living on my money tree. I let it really dry out then sprayed it with rubbing alcohol, and watered it with it too to kill any potential larvae. Gnats are gone. Not sure if you have any plants in your home, but its worth a check to see if they are breeding in the soil.

How do you clean your litter box? Make sure you thoroughly empty it and then wipe it out with white vinegar. That should disinfect it and hopefully kill any larvae around.
