My recently rescued rabbits teeth are quite long, I wondered if anyone had any tips on getting him to eat something that might grind them down a bit. He is currently on a all hay and grass diet with the occasional carrot, (If he’s lucky!) but I wondered if there was anything else I cold do other than take him to the vet to have them cut.

If you have any tips please let me know, thanks Emmy.

Hay is the best thing, but it might not be enough. You can also give twigs or apple and/or willow because buns like to gnaw the bark off those, esp apple.

If his teeth are not wearing down properly, he might have a malocclusion. This may mean frequent trims. But having them removed altogether might be the better option in the long run. Rabbits manage really well without their front teeth.

Thanks for the help. Removing the teeth might be an idea.

He is on an hay and grass only diet. He has some willow sticks but I might try to find some apple ones, to see if he likes them, Thanks
