I would like to know what rabbit’s behavior are like when they are coming home for the first time in a carrier. I am bringing mine home today and I would like to take in consideration if there has been any problems with them in the car. I have a carrier with fleece on the bottom, I also included some hay but I didn’t bring a water bottle. I’d appreciate your stories!

Not much to tell for me. Bandit was also fairly quiet, he would turn around a bit, and sometimes dig. But otherwise he’d sit reasonably calmly. He would never eat on car rides, although I always used to put some loose hay in the carrier just in case. The main thing for me was to make sure that the car never got too warm, so I always kept it a little cool while driving with him. I suppose just make sure that the fleece grips the bottom of the carrier, fleece just used to slide on the bottom of mine so I used to put a cut out of a foam mat or carpet tile on the bottom of the carrier, with fleece either on top of it or wrapped around it. It stopped the fleece from sliding everywhere.

Two of my bunnies just sat quietly on their first car ride. They did eat the hay i put in there, but not much else. We got our third unplanned. We went to the pet store to get our twos nails clipped and saw our soon to be third sitting in one of the cages alone. There was another one there we really liked, but he was already bonded to the other bun he shared the cage with. So our soon to be bun met our two buns and they really liked him, so it was decided theyd be a trio. He went home in their carrier with them. They all snuggled and ate their hay like normal

After more car rides (we are in and out of the vets every month since our third has many medical problems; im glad our two picked him out for us that day so we could care for him) they all got used to it. Theyll sit, sprawl, eat, shake the door to come and sit in my lap, ect

The first car ride with my boy he didn’t like it and had runny poop, 2nd time he was fine because he was limp very ill on the way to the vets, 3rd time, no worries, watched the taxi driver driving the car, watched every move, I better not give my boy any car keys.
