Ok so I have had tons of rabbits bite me. From tiny love nibbles to bruising and skin tearing bites. But they always just bite and let go! (Unless they confuse my skin with my shirt and tug on it instead). I have never seen a bunny bite and hold on like a dog would!
Most of the babies bite my fingers but understand that OW! Means they are biting too hard. Kimber will even lick the spot he bit too hard as if to say sorry lol. But Diesel for some reason doesn’t get it. He sees everyone else nibbling my fingers and then he will bite me. But when I say OW! He starts to bite harder instead of softer!
This morning he was out for my finger because I was petting one of the other babies through the cage door before I left for work and Diesel runs up to the door and reaches through it and grabs the loose skin on my knuckle and tugs! Mean while I’m screaming and he’s tugging harder and harder on my skin. I think Corey stopped him from taking all the skin off my knuckle.
Why does he bite me? Like I said I have never seen a bunny bite and hold on like a dog! He’s upset at me cause I yelled at him and won’t let him bite me anymore. My big bunnies use to bite me when upset at me and they would leave bruises but they always bit and let go. I’m so confused by what diesel is doing. Thanks for any insight.

He likely thinks they are eating and wants to know what they are eating. He may not realize they are your fingers lol. I would work on some training with him. When he bites you, yell “ow” and turn your back to him. Ignore him for a few seconds, then pet him. If the training doesnt help after a few days of training, he has a different motive for biting you. Does he bite anyone else?

I don’t usually let anyone else pet him because he bites lol. You may be right though because I do give them treats through the cage door in the morning when I wake up and he may have thought that’s what I was doing. I’ll try your suggestion.
