My male bunny, ace has lived on his own for three years, he was neutered 6 weeks ago and we have just got a baby female rabbit, nala. I put the their cages next to each other for a few days and then put them together for about 20 minutes. As soon as ace saw nala he jumped straight on her and would not stop humping her. She took it quite well for a while but then seemed to get fed up and started running away from him. He just kept chasing her. The next time I put them in together they just ran round and round in circles. Ace just wouldn’t let up. Obviously ace is just so excited to see her after being on his own for so long, will he ever be able to be next to her without wanting to hump her. She’s just little and feel so sorry for her. Before he got neutered he would hump anything, pillows, soft toys, feet. Maybe he’s too highly sexed to have a friend?

It can take longer than 6 weeks for a male bun to stop exhibiting sexual behavior. It can take 6 months. Hopefully it will diminish over time so they can be together. If it doesn’t she’ll probably get very fed up with him and when she gets older, it’s likely that there’d be a lot of fighting.
There’s not a lot to do about this except wait and see :/

Spaying Nala will probably help too.
