I have been bottle feeding 2 mini Rex babies that lost their mom for 3 days now. Today their poop has turned from little black poops to almost brownish/yellow poops. I would almost compare it to seeds. I am feeding this kitten milk mixed with heavy whipping g cream. Anyone know why this is happening? I have never bottle raised babies so this is all knew to me. I would guess they are between 2-3 weeks old. Their eyes are just starting to open. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

From what i see on google, you are only supposed to use kitten milk replacement and nothing else to feed them. I dont think they can digest whipping cream which means it could be clogging their organs or causing toxins to be released into their bodies. How old are they?

They are more likely 2 weeks or less if they are only just opening the eyes. Usually this happens around 10 days old but it’s possible they are having some developmental delays if being hand-reared.

Im not abosolutely sure about the colour change but I suspect it is to do with switch from Mums milk to the formula. It’s good the poop is still solid form. Are you able to enrich the formula with colostrum?
