My bunnies clean their bodies really well but their paws look SO dirty. It’s like green and yellow and all sorts of nasty color haha
I think its from jumping in their litter box and sitting on hay.
I don’t know how I can clean their paws. I want them to look cleaner….
Is it normal to have dirty paws??
Please give me some advice on how to clean their paws since rabbits normally don’t get baths unless they have poopy butt.

You can dilute some white vinegar in water, moisten a washcloth just a wee bit, and give their little paws a swipe once in a while? Although paw fur discoloration from hay or even bedding is not uncommon and totally ok as long as it’s from non-toxic pigments.

WHen I had white sheets on the floor in my bunny room, I saw little dirty foot prints. They are from the litter box. As long as their butts are clean, I dont’ wory about the paws. If you were walkign around the floor in yoru white socks – the botton of your feet/socks woudl show dirt. Same with the bunnies. They are walkign aroudn on the floor, on dust, in their liter boxes, it is natural that their feet would be dirty. I might try warm water and a rag before vinegar. I doubt they woudl sti still for the vinegar smell…

If they have white fur, that can discolour a bit. It could be the hay but also the saliva might tinge the fur.
It might be worth putting some hay in water for a while to see if it colours. Some companies unfortunately use a green dye to make the hay look more appealing.

If it’s the top of the paw that is discoloured or crusty, that could be from the nose.

It’s just the paws itself that is discolored a bit. Both my bunnies have a bit of discolored paws and its been like that since I got them from the breeder…
The white/orange bunny has cleaner paws than my chinchilla colored bunny, but I don’t know why….

I also thought that wet grass always turns water green when put into water though?? because that’s usually what happened when I’d play sports in the rain.
