I want my rabbit and I to be close.  I spend an hour a day with him.  I have had him two weeks.  He chins me, nudges me, purrs once in a while, and I pet him while he plays or lays down.  If he takes a nap I leave him and come back an hour later and spend another 20 minutes in his habitat later.

What else can I do with him to strengthen our bond?  I give him a treat once a day and he usually does a binky after that.  But I feel there’s more I should be doing other than petting him.

Well, for having had him for only two weeks, he sounds really comfortable around you, which is wonderful.

You could read aloud to him, sing to him, listen to music together and “dance” with him, watch tv with him, take a nap with him, play with him (try to tickle his tum or tail)… I literally treat Chewie like he’s a small person in terms of talking to him constantly and making sure he knows I’ve noticed him and I’d say it helped build a very strong bond.

Those are great t ideas. I read to him for 35 minutes today. Modernist women poets, mostly H.D. It was fun. He just plopped down and relaxed.

            We’ll try music tomorrow.

I just finished playing with Chewie – I make a “crawley hand” and try to tickle his tum and he popcorns around on my bed until he’s tired, and then he knows it’s time for dinner.

                Sounds fun and cute!

I think Peyton liked the reading today. I came home from work and he chinned me four times!

This is what me and Peyton are listening to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1gu4YdA6tE

He seems very alert, I think he has to get used to other things than my voice.

He seems to like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImKY6TZEyrI

Edit:the music wasn’t a real success.  I think he was afraid.
