How many treats a day do you give your rabbit?

I have been giving one baby carrot and one grape sized piece of apple a day.  Is this too much?

I give dandelion leaves and dandelion stalks as treats while the buns are outside, and they consider their two daily portions of pellets a treat too. My buns only get a slice of carrot as a very occasional treat, and they have never had apple. Too much sugar isn’t good for buns, I would maybe alternate the carrot and the apple each day, and maybe halve the carrot too, so bun gets used to a bit less?

House Rabbit Society guidelines no more than 1TBSP fruit per day. If you have a very small bunny then I would give less. And if you offer dried fruit, you need to take into consideration that it was much bigger.

My buns usally get a couple small pieces of fruit and 1 Oxbow cookie per day.

Too much sugar can cause GI problems or runny poops.

I would probably either stick with one baby carrot, or half a baby carrot and the little piece of apple. I was very strict about Bandit’s treats, if I was giving craisins, it was only at bed time and an absolute maximum of two, though I usually only gave one. I never gave fresh apple, only dried, so when I did I only gave half of a thin slice, or even half of that half. When giving carrot I would give no more than a 1-2cm slice per day. I never gave multiple different treats on the same day, it was either the apple, or craisins, or some carrot etc.
