Hey guys, I have another problem. I thought I had this whole sexing issue settled but now I’m not so sure.

I read that girls genitals have a slit opening and boys have more of a round opening. I used that as reference and thought I was right. Unfortunately I was looking at Kimbers belly and noticed two bald patches next to her genital area. Such as an area for testicles? I know it’s getting time where they are going to be able to reproduce and I want to make sure I know who is what for sure. When I look at it the opening looks like a slit but when I gently push a little it rolls out and it’s not really a slit shape anymore. The other boys genitals don’t do that? Does the “bald patches” mean it’s male? I’m so stressed about this. I’ve re-sexed them like 3 times now. Thanks for any help with my vague explanation.

It can be very hard to sex young rabbits. Boys and girls look very similar at that stage. Here are some nice pictures that might help:

If you’re not sure, it might be a good idea to have a vet take a look. Otherwise, you might end up with an oopsie on your hands.

But yes, bald-ish patches in the appropriate area are usually a dead giveaway.

The bald patches are likely testicles. It is so, so hard to accurately sex them. I would definitely have your vet take a look asap so you know who is who.
