So Bruce a 20 week male castrated rabbit was litter trained until this week – he would poo inside his pen and usually inside his litter tray and VERY OCCASIONALLY just outside his pen on his mat….. but he was unwell on friday, stools were loose small and sticky and he wasn’t right in himself… he is now better and back to his usual self, but he has become a little naughty since….. he is now escaping around the house where he wouldn’t before and he is now just pooing anywhere he likes – which is something he wasn’t doing before….. and I don’t know how to get him out of this habit again…. should we start from scratch confining him to his cage for a few days with small run time gradually increasing as we did when he was a baby, or is he just suffering the after effects of an upset tummy for a few days??

        any help would be appreciated!!

          Hi BruceBruce9!
Perhaps your bunny could be doing this because hormones…? Starting from scratch sounds like a good idea. Make sure to always scoop up the droppings as soon as possible to make your bunny know that he needs to go in the box, not on the floor Sorry that I can’t give any more advice!
