ATTENTION BUNNY BONDERS! My Casper (spayed 2.5 year old mini rex) had an exciting day today! I’ve been contimplating a bunny brother for Casper for some time, however most shelters here don’t neuter until adoption is set up and I’d like to start the meet up with both buns being fixed. There is a little guy, Charlie (possible lion head dwarf), an adult 2-6 years and is neutered! Casper went on her first ever meet and greet today and here is how this went: Casper aNd Charlie were divided by an xpen, with many capable hands standing by to supervise. Complete indifference by both at first. Then some sniffing from afar and then again indifference. Open up the gates! ?(Again many people at the ready to intervene), together in the same space, indifference. Hopping past one another, a alittle sniff here or there… then, two bunnies meet head on in the bunny tunnel. ??. Noses touch, sniff sniff. Then each go their own way. ?. Eventually Charlie contimplated mounting Casper. She has none of it and took off. He followed her a little, then stopped, onto sniffing something else. When he approached her after this she would run off, sometimes thumping. He did not chase her though. They would stop exploring occasionally to groom their faces in front of one another, and Charlie laid down at one point. Casper approached him him was laying down, when he got up to sniff back she would retreat. Not to hide, just to have her own space……… This went on for about 45 minutes all together. Eventually Casper went back in her kennel, indicating she had enough. At home, afterwards, she is doing great. Just being her perfect little self. ——- Now, having never bonded bunnies before I am wondering if this sounds like a typical introduction. This was in a fairly neutral territory (at the shelter) and I realize this could and likely would look different at home In Casper’s space…. Anyways.. anyone who has bonded buns and can spare a few thoughts, would be greatly appreciated!

That sounds like a pretty good first meeting. No fights, curiosity but nothing too intense. I would say that is a pretty good match.
