hey guys I’m silverbunny16 and I’m getting a bunny soon this month! ( probably going to adopt) and so far I needs alot of help!!!!

I cleaned up our spare room and that will be our bunny cage…  is it ok if there’s noise in the room ( drying machine) would it effect the bunny?

hay: I’m planning to buy the bulk stantlee hay for my bunny….

p.s which pellet should I get?

Hi SilverBinky16! You’ve got some very interesting alien-like computer hieroglyphs in your message! I have never kept mine next to a drying machine, but I tend to keep my rabbits in a quieter area. You want to have activity but not too much, so it really depends on how loud the machine is. The dryer is often used for stress bonding, so if it’s loud like that, I would say, put the dryer somewhere else.

I buy plain timothy hay based pellets with no extra fancy stuff in them.

Hi silverbinky16. If you do a search in the forums for pellets, or look through the Diet and Care forum, you can read about brands that people use for their bunnies. Oxbow is one of the popular ones. Dryers can be noisy, and rabbits do generally prefer quiet environments, but it’s hard to say if your bunny would be bothered by the noise. Make sure that he can’t get to the dryer cord or any other cords that may be in the room. To read about bunny proofing and other bunny care ideas, check out the BUNNY INFO link at the top of the page.

Welcome to Binky Bunny I’m also not sure on the suitability of having a rabbit in the room with a dryer. At one point I kept Bandit in our reasonably large laundry room, but any time I had the washing machine on he had the option of leaving the room. It didn’t really bother him, but not all rabbits are the same.

In terms of pellets, brands can vary depending on which country you live in. Common/popular brands are Oxbow, Sherwood Forest and Burgess Excel.

                Welcome silverbunny16 : )
It’s great you’re considering adopting a rabbit. You’ve certainly come to the right place to learn about them. You’ve gotten some great advice so far. The only other concern I’d have about the dryer is how much heat it puts out. Rabbits don’t do well in warm environments. If the room is well ventilated, this will probably not be a problem.

p.s. I fixed first line of your post because it was showing up with some computer code. Or alien hieroglyphs as Love4Bunny prefers to call it.

Haha, I blame it on all those X-Files episodes I used to watch as a teen, Jerseygirl.

Welcome to BB! Oxbow, Sherwood Forrest, and Science Selective pellets are all good brands.
