I haven’t had a time lately so this is coming maybe a bit late. But here it is none the less.
Last week was my birthday and Redfords gotcha day.
First time I saw his little nose was on my 30th birthday last year. I was surprised when I saw my husband and his best friend coming at the door with a tone of strange stuff, and one huge cage that seemd full of sawdust and otherwise empty.
It took me another good look to see a little fluffy orange thing in the corner covered in sawdust.
My husband wanted to get a squirrel but the moment when he went to the store they where out so he noticed something strange sitting in the small window cage. He ravaged the store and took all they had for bunnies, the largest cage they had and all different food they had. Put the poor bun in a huge cage where a shopkeeper put sawdust and all of it on the front seat of his car. At every curve sawdust would cover poor bun.
When they got home house was alredy full of people. I put the cage next to me and sat on the floor just staring into the Thing. I would love to say that it was love from the first sight but it was more of a mutual respect.
We named him Redford and started knowing each others.
At first he looked so small that we wondered can he even reach to his water bottle. Soon enough he helped us to get to know him. We discovered that our sweet little bun had his temper. Above all he wonted his nap undisturbed. No loud opening of bag of chips or turning the lights on unannounced. And no limits when exploring is in question.
Once when he thought that it would be a great idea to see how cables taste like husband picked him up and turned him othe way. He chased out in the garden, got even faster back in on the other door and in split second got to where the chargers are picked the one that was from my husband phone and cut it in half storming right away.
To this day we belive that was thought trough.
Over this past year we had a lot happening. Yard escape in the park (on my eyes) and running back with half of a big old bread in his mouth that he stole from pigeons. Finding you guys, changing his lifestyle to better, few sleepless nights waiting for poop and hand feeding hay, reading together, sleeping dead bunny flop, a looot of cuddling and finally meeting Bianca.

It has been a crazy year but there is nothing I would change it for.
          Bunnies completely got my heart.

Aww! Well, a belated Happy Birthday and Hoppy Gotcha Day from me!
Your story had me laughing. What a character he is!

He and Bianca are sweet together too. I loved that photo of them in this months picture thread especially.

Bunnies really do change your life. Lol

So cute Rupert is certainly a big charmer, so full of personality. Also, I know from experience as well that rabbits can plan things through when it comes to chewing something. Happy belated birthday and gotcha day

Happy belated birthday, Niamian, and gotcha day, Redford.

And many many more to you both.

Since your bun makes me smile just through the internet, I can only imagine how charming he must be in real life.

Owww, thank you guys in my name and Redfords.

Jerseygirl, lol that is an awesome line for that picture. And yes that one in this month’s tread is one of mine favorites too.

Azerane, I think Rupert could be a good nickname for Redford. And far as we can see there really has been some serious rabbit plans in our house.

Q8bunny, Chewie is also mine internet smile so think we are even.

I just can’t believe how fast one year has past and on the other hand it seems as if Redford and Bianca have always been part of my life.

Happy belated birthday and happy gotcha-day for Redford! How tiny he was! He seems like the most charming bunny, full of mischief!

Thanks bam! I think he was even under 2 months old back then even though they said different.
He is calm and Sir bunny now, but when he gets in the trouble that is in stile, huge and usually well thought trough. And always for the food.

Well, he absolutely looks like Sir Bunny now, with his white gloves and white shirtfront! Very dignified.
