when i let my bun out for a run i normally sit in with him and keep an eye on him whilst reading or on my computer or something and he is always happy and binking around but he always goes up to my toe and starts headbutting  and nipping it and im just curious as to what he is doing.

I have had more than one rabbit who seemed to be annoyed by my feet, and would shove them or nip them if they happened to be in their way, or if they thought they were in the way as they hopped by.

I have a bunny who does this if im not paying attention to him like he wants me to. Its his way of saying “Look at me, dammit! Come play!”

Yes there’s two scenarios, he either thinks your feet are in his way and when you don’t move them after headbutting, he nips. The other option is that he’s seeking attention, he headbutts your feet to get you to pet him or play with him, and when you ignore him he nips you to make it more obvious that he wants attention.

Yes, I too have had bunnies annoyed that my feet were in the way. Quite the little brats, they are…..

I finally found out why, it was because i wouldn’t play with him i would just kind of sit there and pat him if he came up to me but now when i join him i make sure i move around and play with him and he hasn’t nipped me at all, he is a ball of attitude but he is too cute and wins me over every time.

That is just SO typical of bunnies  You must always do what your bunny wants you to do, or he will make you do it

LOL Yep. And then you have the scenario where your foot becomes the bun’s toy. Chewie will do the above, but he also enjoys (1) gnawing on my toes while flopped, the way a baby would a soother, and (2) pouncing on my whole foot and using it for boxing practice (the latter has become quite an elaborate exercise game).
