I think the title says it all. Apparently Netflix is working with the BBC to create a 4 hour mini series based on the book. Computer animated although not specifically stated whether that animation will be 3D or 2D. But it will certainly be interesting. It has quite a few big name British actors in it and will supposedly be released next year. I have no idea whether it’s going to mess things up or be completely awesome, but I’m excited.

I’ve only read the book, I loved it. I hope they make a good job of it!

I have also only read the book. I read it for school right after I got Moxie, for a school project. It was a library book and Moxie ended up ripping the cover up. *Sigh* lol

The book is actually my all time favourite book I saw the movie first when I was a kid and found the book a few years later. I read it at least once every year

There’s also actually a Watership Down TV series from the late 90’s, but I do have to say that the quality is certainly not so great.

I’ve always been interested in reading the book and watching the 90’s show but I don’t think I could handle it. The music video for “Bright Eyes” made me cry……too sad….

The TV series has more of a lighthearted Animals Of Farthing Wood feel to it (if I’m remembering AOFW correctly). It has lots of nonsense filler episodes but there’s also a long arching storyline which is quite good once you get down to it. It still deals with some big issues, but in a much more lighthearted way than the movie.

The Bright Eyes scene makes me cry every time. The book makes me cry too, haha. But I can say that the book is absolutely worth reading if you haven’t, there’s so much more backstory and development of characters, plus all the rabbit lore is fantastic in the book.

Can’t wait to give it a shot. Love the book and the animated film.
