As soon as the birds start tweeting Olly bangs his foot very loudly and looks at the window, then stares at me, is there anything I can do to help him stay calm at 4:00 in the morning?

You could see if they’ll put their notifications on silent.
Just kidding.. My sense of humour is awful.

Actually I’m not certain there’s a lot you could do. Other then sound proof the room but that would be pretty difficult to do.

Hopefully he’ll adjust bird noise after some time? Maybe he’s picking up on other animal sounds at that time that we can’t detect.

If the birds are warning for a cat or magpies or sth, it might well be that Olly picks up on that and tries to warn his darling mommy too. I think he could get used to it and stop warning you. Animals tend to get desensitized to sounds that never result in sth bad – or in sth good like attention, so don’t fuss over him.

Many buns do like to wake their humans up at first light because they consider it morning and breakfast-time. But it isn’t.

I would think he’ll likely get used to it. When we moved to our current rental in August last year, we found that we have some very noisy possum neighbours Our metal garage roof joins directly onto the wall of the living room where the bunny condo is. The garage roof is also about 3-4 feet below the neighbours house roof, so possums leap from their roof, onto the roof of our garage with an extremely loud bang. And then a thump-a, thump-a as they run across the roof Needless to say, Bandit was less than impressed and for several weeks would thump every time a possum ran on the roof or jumped down. With time, he simply stopped noticing/caring about the noise.
