Bramble is usually the sweetest. Last night she went nuts :s

I went to put her in her cage last night, 10pm like usual. She was fine, then I went to top up her hay at 10.15. When I shut the door again she started growling and throwing herself against the wire. She was biting the door and generally going nuts. I have never seen her like this before. I had never heard her growl until last night. I thought something was terribly wrong so I opened the door, she threw herself at the door as it was opening, bit the door and me. She then hopped straight onto my lap and after some reassurance calmed down and was her usual self.

I have no idea what was wrong with her but left her outside the cage overnight after her episode.

Anyone any ideas? She seems fine now but I haven’t tried putting her back overnight yet.

How old is she? Is she spayed or could she be getting into puberty?

She’s 6 months, so yes, a real handful. She has been marking for a while and is scheduled for spay next Friday.

I think she’s been hormonal for a while but this was just so out of character for her. Even with some grumpy hormones she’s never been aggressive before. It was really distressing watching her throw herself against the cage door but I have no idea why she was doing it. Nothing had changed and she was fine when I put her in 15 minutes earlier.
