I only went to pick up some food, haven’t been out for a while, I got back to the door and could hear banging and clanking, I opened the door and went to the lounge and Olly just froze and laid down, yes it was him, he slowly calmed down and had his paws on his X-pen and saying his little hello and doing his little purr, the next door neighbour she said he started 10 minutes after I left, he does put his hands on his x-pen and try to look where I’m off to in the home, but he’s never had a tantrum before when I’ve gone out.

Has your bunny or bunnies ever done this?

Not really, but Autumn will always headshake and run to greet me when I come in. How old is Olly? he could be a bit hormonal. My Autumn suffered bad with hormones. if I don’t bring food she will sometimes flick her feet at me in disapproval though

Biffle usually runs up to me and licks my feet when I come back home; I’ve never actually witnessed him have a tantrum though. It’s very cute that he missed you though!

Autumn’s Dad O;;y is 3 and neutered but still it could be hormones, he’s done it again today but stopped as soon as I came into the room.

Sorry about that,I suffer from Migraines and have been disorientated all day, I should have put ‘Olly’, not ‘O;;y’ it doesn’t happen very often, but just to let you know.

Olly does panic a little if he doesn’t know where I am, he looks after me a lot, he sees me struggle everyday with my disabilities, he rattles his cage bars when its my tablet time, lets me know when someone’s at the door and if its a new carer taking me to the shower room he gets panicky.

It seems like you and Olly communicate well. Somehow he seems to understand you. Maybe try explaining that you’re going out for a while and will come back soon?

When I need to vacuum I cover the xpen with blankets so he can’t see the big scary machine. Maybe if you cover his pen when you go out he won’t realize you’ve gone?

I do tell him I’ll be back soon, covering his X-pen is not advisable because its really hot at the moment.

No need (to apologise), understood you perfectly well. I inherited low blood pressure so know that disorientated feeling. You are very fortunate to have an attentive bun, and he a very caring owner. Like MiNinojack said, you have a deeply established bond that you share, a great thing to see
