I have a little sister (9) and she and my grandma went picking some dandelions for little Charlie this afternoon. She really wanted to give it to him right after we came home from grandma and as my favourite Tv show was on I let her bring it up to my room to feed it to him by herself. What i didnt know is that grandma also gave some salad for us, humans and she already put some garlic on it. Now my sister messed it up nad gave the bunny the wrong greens- the salad with the garlic on top. It is now half an hour later that my mom noticed we are missing our dinner and of course Charlie already ate everything till the last bit.

Now I am really worried about my bunny because I have read that it can be quite harmful for bunnies to eat garlic. How bad is it if ingested? Should we visit a vet tomorrow? Any other recommendations on what we can do to maybe prevent some bad outcome?

He is still acting like his normal self now 30 min later and I know that the only vets open at this late hour at ours are probably not trained in seeing rabbits so i dont think a vet visit would do anything at this point.

        Thanks in advance!

Garlic isn’t good for buns but he’d have to eat a lot of garlic at one time or get fed garlic on a regular basis for it to become really harmful.
Unless there were like whole cloves of garlic in the salad he ate I think he’ll be fine. Give him hay and water and keep an eye!
