Mosley has gone to two separate vets, and they cannot seem to figure out what is going on with her left ear. She is constantly scratching it and grooming it, and you can tell it really irritates her. If I scratch it for her or get way in there with my finger,  she goes nuts and licks my hand like crazy and her leg gets going because it feels so good. All the vets see is it is redder than the right ear, and it has more wax. They ran cultures to make sure it wasn’t any sort of mite or fungal infection, but they still did not find anything.

Does anyone have any suggestions for her ear? I want to help her not be so itchy and bothered by it, because I’m sure it is annoying for her.

        Thanks!

Perhaps they can make up a medicated ear wash for her? Something antibacterial, anti fungal.

I would have suggested mites, but since it has already been ruled out, I don’t know. I hope she gets better soon!

Hmm… they already ruled out mites and bacteria… Did the check to see if there was something in or behind the wax? Sometimes stuff gets lodged in the ear (human, rabbit, or other) and can cause excessive irritation and wax buildup. If something were far enough in the ear they would have to use a special tool to see it.

I know! It’s been over a year and it’s bothered her. I wonder if it is a sort of wax buildup like Sam mentioned! Any natural washes I could use myself to possibly help her?

I’m assuming if it was wax your vet would have noticed. I really wish I could offer some helpful advice.
