Because we had a couple of flies buzzing around yesterday, I applied rabbit spot on to every bunny’s ears, spine and butt last night.

Put everybun out in the sunshine this morning, with Pippi and Jenny in the original run, and Podge and Gina in the separate extension I added so those two had a big enough space to go together. Went back out a bit later and there were quite a few tufts of hair on both sides, yet there weren’t any yesterday.

I guess its a bit like a change in a bunny’s smell from a trip to the vets, though with everybun smelling of spot on themselves, you’d think It wouldn’t cause such a stir, but its the only thing I can think of for why some buns started nipping butts again. Its calmed down a lot this afternoon, but I won’t do any bonding group bonding today. Hopefully they’ll be used enough to the smell by tomorrow to push on.

You’re right… With a common smell I wouldn’t have thought it would be a trigger for scuffles.

Every bun is back outside for an early morning grass graze.

Put Podge and Gina in the original run, with Pippi and Jenny in the smaller extension, and with no hair nipping, I am putting yesterday down to the change in smell from the rabbit spot on.

The girls are caught in the act of their pre-graze nose-to-nose check on each other, which is alway done on the right hand end of where the two runs join!
