So my rabbit Ron has been acting weird lately and I’m not sure if I should chock it up to hormones, just plain moodiness or if he could just be not feeling well. He is 9 months old, not neutered yet, and I’ve had him for almost 4 months now.  ( I am planning to get him neutered as soon as I can afford it ) He is also eating well and pooping normal and doesn’t show any normal signs of sickness.

He hasn’t been sprinting around or binkying as he always has, for the past week and a half or so. And this wouldn’t be too concerning for me but he also doesn’t pan out too much anymore either. He spends a lot of time sitting around and staring at me or his water dish, or hay rack. If I go sit by him he’ll just kind of snap out of it and be the sweet bun he usually is, but the second I go back to whatever I was doing before he’ll just sit and stare blankly again. It seems like he’s just moping around most of the time. He has tons of toys and I spend the majority of everyday with him but it still just feels like he’s bored or sad or I don’t know what. And since he doesn’t run off his energy anymore, the times he’s not sitting around he’s ripping out and eating my carpet lol.

Is this something I should be worried about or is he just going through a moody teenage phase?

Is he still eating and pooping well? Does he look relaxed and lounged out, or is he sitting more bunched up like he could be in pain?

Some rabbits just aren’t the type to play a lot and will just lounge around. From about 11am to 5pm, Bandit would do barely anything at all. If I opened his cage door around lunch time, he might come out, but if he did he would just lie down somewhere for hours.

What is Ron like in the morning and evening? Is he active then? At 9 months old he also may be growing out of his always playful baby stage too.
