Right now my hutch is outside so I’m using a lidless shoebox tied to the wire wall. It’s really messy and inconvenient, plus I want to move the hutch indoors, so does anyone know of a really good, not-that-messy hay rack? I have two rabbits and they’re both about 7 pounds each, so they eat quite a bit of hay.

        Thanks,

        Beetiza

You should check out Etsy.com. Type in “Haybox” or “Haybag”, and you will find great options for tidy and functional hay dispensing options. I currently use a Haybag (had it custom made because it was originally for piggies), but I used to have a haybox. One of my rabbits used the haybox as a litter box because she could fit through the holes, which is why I don’t use it anymore. I love the Haybag because it functions like a gravity-type feeder, and the old hay gets eaten first, whereas with the haybox, you have to keep mixing the old hay in with the new more frequently. It’s not the cheapest option, but I have gone through 5 hay feeders (really good DIY ones, I might add), but Thor likes to forage for hay, so he doesn’t touch anything with a grid opening (it has to be a hole or square for him to choose his hay).

PS: Sorry that my pic is so huge.
