Last week my bunny got into a very bad fight with a foster bunny I was trying to bond her with (they are no longer together). Today, however, I was stroking her and noticed something hard on her skin. On closer inspection, it turns out she has been bitten by the other doe. There was no blood at the time that I could see (and I would see it as she’s a white rabbit) but the scab looks pretty big.

It doesn’t look infected (no redness or pus or anything). It’s dry and stabbed over but the skin on the left hand side of it looks like a bit of a wrinkle (not red, just a bit raised) and a little strand of tangled hair appears to be coming out of the scab. I’m contemplating going to the vet but I don’t know if I’m overreacting?

The fact that the wound is scarring means is healing nicely. I think the rabbit will heal just fine. If he becomes any different than normal, then you can seek the vet.

Thank you. I did think that, but I just wanted to make sure.

She seems absolutely her adventurous, treat-begging self at the moment, so I would definitely notice a change if she started feeling poorly. I’ll keep her under close observation!
