My boyfriend bought me some orange lilies. I’m not sure if they’re asiatic, or tiger, or something else. But they definitely look like lilies. I completely forgot about lilies being poisonous to animals, until after I caught him eating a dried leaf that fell on the floor. Instant panic mode. Anyone have any suggestions?

If it’s only one lily petal, it’s probably not enough to cause him serious harm, how long ago did he eat it? How does he seem? Try and make him eat hay and drink water. If you start to see symptoms of poisoning (drooling, lethargy, balance-problems etc), you need to take him to a vet asap, of course. But from what I can find, a single lily petal doesn’t have a whole lot of toxin in it.

You can call your vet and ask. Maybe they’ll want to give him activated charcoal. Don’t give him charcoal yourself, it’s tricky to distribute to a rabbit.

He seems fine. It was over two hours ago. He’s running around like an absolute nut. He’s actually demanding more attention than usual, being super nibbley and getting into EVERYTHING. He’s also eaten like a pig, done a few poos in a freshly cleaned litterbox. He definitely doesn’t seem to be suffering the ill effects of anything.
