It’s been a while since I posted on the forum so I thought I’d re-introduce myself.  I first found this forum around the time when my then-bun Baby had a cancerous mass removed from her mammary hence my user name   That gorgeous bun face in my profile pic is Pinky!  Here is a list of my past to present bunny slave experience…

Binky – my first bun, a sweet and goofy grey mini lop who I found in a pet store and purchased knowing absolutely nothing about rabbit care (ugh).  He taught me to love bunnies.  I knew very little about rabbit care but I did my best.

Brownie – was an affectionate lovey brown and white holland lop girl who I bought from a different pet store some time after Binky passed.  She tucked right under my chin when I first held her and I was hooked.  Unfortunately I was still operating with pet store rabbit care information for Brownie’s care (pellet only diet / wood chip litter).

Baby – was a feisty grey and white lop who I bought from a pet store some time before Brownie passed.  I had hoped that they would be companions but had NO idea about rabbit bonding.  After the first couple of furry tangles I resolved myself to the fact that I had to house and free-roam them separately.  Thank GOODNESS for the world wide web and access to information.  During Baby’s life I found Binky Bunny website and my entire bunny world changed.  My heart was always in it.  But good information about house rabbit care evaded me until I found this website.  Thanks Binky Bunny!!

Pinky – was a cuddley sassy new zealand rew who I adopted from my local shelter.  I was able to find a rabbit savvy vet in my area (Ontario Canada) and had her spayed.  She just passed a few days ago at 10.5 years old.  My heart is completely broken and I miss her very very much.  We grew even closer in June 2014 after Bogart (13 yr old mixed breed dog) passed since we both missed his goofy self.  She was my cuddle bug.  She regularly groomed me and was the recipient of daily head pets and bunny massages.  After she passed I knew I couldn’t last long without a fuzzy friend so that brings me to present…

Hip and Hop – a local shelter had these 2 babies posted on their website and I had to go and meet them.  I assumed they were bonded as they were side by side in their pics but when I got there they were separated. 7 mos old brother and sister neutered and spayed. Mom and siblings all adopted months ago. They were born at the shelter and have been there since. I couldn’t leave either behind… so off I go on a bonding adventure with 2 young buns!

Phew!  Sorry for the book and thanks for sticking with me if you’re still reading

I’ve just re-read the bonding page here and will now go off to lurk in the bonding forum for a bit.  Planning to start a thread there as my Hip Hop bonding adventure begins.  More details about my setup and their lovely selves to come…

        Cheers!

        C

Your new little girls are so beautiful. Like little jewels.  I love REWs! But you already knew that.

Welcome back! I’m very sorry about the loss of your sweet Pinky. Hip and Hop are wonderful. I love REWs, and currently have one in my home. Since they have been living next to each other and have grown up together, hopefully it will be an easy bond.

Besides the info on bonding here, another good article is found here http://rabbit.org/faq-bonding-multiple-rabbits/.

I look forward to seeing more pictures of this cute brother and sister you have adopted. It’s great that they get to stay together.
