I have 2 dwarf bunnies, one female and one male, closely bonded in the same cage and well litter-trained for over 2 years.  Recently, I decided to take the female bun for neutering (male bun spayed 2 years ago already, he is 3 now) and she has recovered quickly from the surgery.  The only thing is, I think she has forgotten how to use the litter box (which they have always been using and sharing) and pooed and weed around the cage.  Weeing around is an issue because that wets her bottom and soil her fur around the tail a lot.  I have to take her for a bottom bath very frequently as it is dirty and smelly.  She does not have a litter problem before the surgery, how come she forgot it now? what can I do about it? This has lasted for over a month or so already…..

How recent? It’s a big surgery so she may be in pain and not wanting to make the hop into the box?

The surgery was in November 2015 and she has recovered very quickly and nicely (back to her good-old-hopping-around-curiously self within days after the surgery).  However after the surgery since now (almost 3 months), she refuses to use the litter box.  She does jump on the litter box and sit there occasionally, but I dont know is it for fun only or what, she does not poop or wee in there.

Could she have suffered an injury during the surgery?
