On the second/third she passed away.

At nine she was fine. Showed no signs of issue. She was excited for dinner, played, cuddled, then went into her cage for bed time. She was filling her litterboxes just like normal. her eyes were bright, she was warm and responcive and enjoying shaking her toy with the bell inside of a smaller ball inside of it. No she did not get the bell out. I checked.

At ten my new dog Ziggy (her best friend) was upset and whining at her cage and kept trying to drag me over. I went over to look and she was sprawled in her cage corner barely responding. I took her out and tried to see if she would eat or drink anything, but she was hardly breathing and i could barely find a heartbeat. She seemed to get a little bit better at around 1 am. A little bit more responsive. Allot of drooling, but not as much spazzing.

I had called the vet and was told to meet her at the clinic. We waited there for fifteen minnuets, then went across the road to wait at the gas station for an hour while Ror was spazzing. She never came. Went back home and started calling around. Only place that was open was two hours away by car. My mom was at work, i don’t own a car.

At six am she passed on. Ziggy is still going around the house whining so loud you can hear her outside. I feel horrible, and i have no idea what happened. She was her normal self and within a hour she was half dead. She couldn’t get anything from her cage, and i have my bedroom and the livingroom 100% bunny proofed. I even have clear wall protectors so she cant nibble on them. There aren’t even nibbles on them because she hates chewing on plastic. She dosen’t get toxic foods. The only thing she has chewed on is my shelf; but i made that myself. All of the furnature she could reach i made so i knew it was safe. 100% untreated pine. the bed even has the wall protectors boxing it in with latches so she couldn’t get under it but i could store my non-rabbit-friendly things under it. She got veggies and greens every day. She came out all the time. She was eating and drinking and had as much hay as she wanted.

I’m very sorry about Rorschach. It sounds as if she might have had a stroke or some kind of seizure. Please don’t think that it was anything you had done or not done with her that caused her to fall ill. Neurological episodes can strike suddenly and without warning. It sounds like you took wonderful care of her and that she had much love from you and Ziggy.

I’m so sorry you lost your bun. I agree with Tobyluv, it sounds like a seizure/neuro episode and not like something you could have caused or prevented. Such episodes, like a stroke, often happen like that, without warning, like lightning from a clear sky. She seems to have had a perfect and very happy life with you and Ziggy. Of course you feel horrible, it’s a horrible thing you had to witness, but you don’t have any reason to blame yourself.

I hope Ziggy will be ok. He’ll need you extra now. He sounds like a very sweet dog.

              Binky free, Rorschach.

Thank you everyone… I’m glad i hopefully didn’t cause it, and i just hope she’s able to cause as much trouble as she wants now wherever she is. I’ll be letting her breeder know, although i doubt much will come of it. Ziggy is a little bit better, she’s stopped crying now and is just sticking close to us… She is a very sweet dog. She’s a german sheppherd, and thinks all small critters are hers to babysit. She even has to bring their food to their cages, or else she gets sad… Hopefully she will perk up sometime soon again.

I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you gave Ror everything she could have ever wanted and more. Please don’t blame yourself for this. Neuro episodes can be very scary, and it is so easy to wonder what your could have done to stop it. Unfortunately it happens sometimes and we can’t know why; though to no fault of our own.
                    ((((((hugs to you and Ziggy))))))
