I noticed that my bunny sits with his paw slightly held up. He hops just fine but has been less active recently. I noticed just today that he doesn’t like when his paw gets touched and tries to hide it underneath of him…

About a month ago a whole nail broke off of this foot. I noticed a bit of blood and saw his whole nail was coming off. It came off on its own and I thought it was fine. I’ve been away at college since then and my family hasn’t noticed anything but they don’t watch him the way I do.

Do you think he is hurting from the nail that came off? His paw looks fine but he won’t let me touch it to get much of a closer look. What could it be? He puts pressure on it while hopping.

I suggest you have a vet take a look. It could be causing him pain. Perhaps an abscess.
