So I got a Holland Lop and she is 4 1/2 months old now. She is just starting to go through puberty. She has accidents everywhere and tries to hump everything. I gave her a teddy bear as a stunt double and she goes to town on it. I’ve noticed lately though that sometimes when she’s humping she’ll make a noise and then fall over to the side. There is also some residue on the teddy bear. Is my she a he? I try to flip her over to check the sex but she will not allow it. She squirms and gets away every time and I am afraid of being to rough with her. So my question is, do females tend to hump something and fall over when done? She also makes a spraying sound when it happens. Thank you

OMG sounds like a little boy!!! My rabbits had 4 litters before they were spayed. He did EXACTLY what you are describing. hump hump really quick, spray, (thump), then fall over to the side.
Young rabbits are not easy to sex if you are unsire of what to look for. Their genetalia lok very similar at that age.The hole – in the females genitals is a triangular shape. It is circular on the male. If you can wrap your bunny up in a towel, it wil be much easier to check.
Female rabbits do hump. But the rest of that story – belongs to a male 🙂

There is often confusion about gender when bunnies are young. Boys get mistaken for girls and girls get mistaken for boys. Of course, when you happen to spot the family jewels then… well, there’s no mistaking you have a boy. LOL

Girls do hump and sometimes (it isn’t really common) they, uh, “finish”. But, I don’t think you would be seeing anything left behind as a result.

If your bunny won’t let you get up close and personal with his/her genitals, then see if you can spot some testicles peeking though the fur. They will be located in front of the genitals (rather than behind like in a dog or cat), on the abdomen. They are flat, pink bumps under the fur. If find some there, you know for sure it’s a boy. If no testicles can be found… well, it’s not a guarantee that it’s a girl since boys will sometimes pull them up into their body. Hopefully that helps.

Lola might be a Lalo. Sorry I couldn’t resist. My husband was convinced when I got Mr. Bun-bun that he was a she. I knew better. He found out the hard way that is was a little guy. Lol
