Hi! I’m a new bunny mom and new to the forums!

I adopted a bunny October 1st and at first she really seemed to be interested in me, but now it seems that she doesn’t really want anything to do with me anymore. I feed her, play with her all day, and always give her treats out of my hand. It’s frustrating at times because she really adores my boyfriend, it seems… but not me. I’m unsure of all of her past, but, I do know that she was abandoned near a dumpster and rightfully has weary tendencies of people. Maybe she had a female owner before and is weary?

Not sure what to do in the situation. I feel like I’ve tried all the bunny tricks to get her to trust me more and I’m just feeling a bit sad at how little she wants to do with me.  I love her to pieces and want her to feel safe around me. Any suggestions? Have any of you experienced this from adopting?

Some tidbits about my bunny. (Just for reference.)

She’s under a year – 3 years. (No idea for sure. Since she was abandoned, her age is questionable.) I think she’s under a year just due to her behavior and energy levels.

        She’s a satin Angora/Lionhead mix.

She gets plenty of time outside of her pen, lots of snacks, gets to explore, all the good stuff.

        She has been fixed!

        Thank you for any suggestions!

Food is always a good idea. Sometimes it just takes time. I have 2 super snuggly bunnies, 1 semi snuggly bunny, and 1 very wild bunny. the wild oe – Morgana – I’ve had her for just over 2 years. She is 2.5 years old. I got her when she was 3 months old. A very wild little 3-month old. She only now barely lets me pet her. Food does help, and so does a set feeding schedule. I feed mine twice a day. They have unlimited hay, but only get pellets and veggies twice a day. No treats. At feeding time, they are running circles around my ankles. Even Morgana hangs around my feet at feeding time. That’s my best suggestion.
